What are the types of crane grab

The picking device used to grab bulk materials is called grab bucket. It is an automatic picking device with high loading and unloading productivity, because its grasping and unloading actions are controlled by the crane driver, which not only avoids auxiliary personnel and human labor, but also saves auxiliary time. Therefore, it is widely used in mines, metallurgical plants, ports and other bulk material warehouses. There are many kinds of grab buckets.

It is very important to select the appropriate grab bucket according to different materials, such as ore grab bucket, wood grab bucket, sand grab bucket, grain grab bucket, etc.

According to the number of jaws, it can be divided into double jaw grab bucket and multi jaw grab bucket. The double jaw grab bucket is applicable to general bulk materials, and the multi jaw grab bucket is mainly used for loading and unloading large ore, scrap steel or wood.

1. The rope grab is driven by the wire rope on the crane to open and close the jaw flap. It is divided into single rope grab, double rope grab and multi rope grab according to the number of branches of its support rope and closed rope. Rope grab has simple structure, light weight, low cost and wide application. In addition to the commonly used long stay grab, many special types of grab can be formed according to the different arrangements of the closed rope force amplification pulley block and the additional transmission components, such as the rake type grab, the shear type grab, the single hinged tong type grab, the torque tooth type grab, etc.

2. The self powered grab is driven by its own power device to open and close the jaw flap, and its grasping capacity depends on the power of the power device. This kind of grab has a complex structure, large dead weight, high center of gravity, and needs to be equipped with power supply cable winding device and overload protection device, so the manufacturing cost is high. Due to motor insulation and other problems, the self powered grab is not suitable for underwater operation.

3.The non rope grab without self replacing power is driven by externally supplied working medium, such as pressure oil or pressure gas, to realize the opening and closing of the jaw flap. It has the advantages of large grasping and loading capacity of the self powered grab, light deadweight and low manufacturing cost.
